Nathan Brewer is a director, educator, and musician in New York City. Directing credits include Seussical The Musical (Theatreworks/USA National Tour), Propaganda The Musical (New York Musical Theatre Festival), Spring Awakening (New York Film Academy/American Theatre of Actors), Grand Hotel (Pennsylvania Centre Stage), The Drowsy Chaperone (Pennsylvania Centre Stage), Grand Hotel (Blue Hill Troupe/Theatre at St. Clements), Mirette (Princeton Festival), What Do Critics Know (Reading- York Theatre), Bubble Boy (Workshop – New 42 Studios), and Hello Again (Manhattan Theatre Source).

As Resident Director for Nouveau Productions in Washington, DC, Nathan has directed the Standing Ovation Awards (The Kennedy Center), the opening and closing concerts for The Kennedy Center International Arts Festival, The Hispanic Heritage Awards (televised on PBS), The Park Avenue Armory Gala, and the opening of The Mary B. Galvin Recital Hall at Northwestern University. Concert collaborators include Renee Fleming, Christine Ebersole, Tim Gunn, Tommy Tune, James Monroe Iglehart, Melba Moore, Kenita Miller, Stephen Flaherty, The American Pops Orchestra, The Fairfax Symphony, and The West Virginia Symphony.

Nathan has had the honor of assisting directors Casey Nicholaw, John Turturro, Susan H. Schulman, and Marcia Milgrom Dodge. Credits include Aladdin (Broadway, Ed Mirvish Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre), Relatively Speaking (Broadway), The World Goes Round (Pittsburgh Public), Around The World In 80 Days (Pittsburgh Public), and Born For Broadway (New World Stages, Merkin Concert Hall).

As an educator, Mr. Brewer has taught at The New York Film Academy, The Pennsylvania State University, and Westminster College of The Arts. Nathan is the President and Artistic Director of Recreational Arts, an educational Performing Arts organization with programs in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
